Yes. Alongside West Kent, we build media walls in Dartford, Gravesend, the Medway towns, Canterbury and coastal towns such as Whitstable, Herne Bay and Margate. Call 0208 0895 905 if you would like us to check your postcode.
A media wall can hold your TV, speakers, soundbar and streaming devices, plus storage alcoves, shelving, LED feature lighting and an electric fire if you want one. We design the layout to suit your décor and the space available.
The width and height of the wall, the finish, the screen size, the audio system and extras such as lighting, shelving or a fire all shape the price. We measure up at your home and send a free quote before work begins.
Cables run inside the wall structure, and mounts and brackets sit behind the screen, so nothing hangs loose. Set-top boxes and consoles can live in a closed cabinet and still respond to your remote.
Yes. New-build homes across Kent often have plasterboard partition walls, so we check what is behind the board and use fixings rated for the weight of the screen and the build-out. This keeps the wall secure and the finish flat.
Yes. Chimney breasts and alcoves are common in Victorian and Edwardian homes across Kent, and we can build the media wall out from the breast or use the alcoves for storage and speakers. The result looks part of the house rather than an add-on.
Yes. We install multi-screen video walls as well as single 4K displays, which is popular for watching several matches or combining gaming with a second feed. We advise on screen sizes and layout so the wall stays balanced.
Choices range from a soundbar recessed into the wall to hidden in-wall or in-ceiling speakers for full surround sound. We match the audio to the size of your room and how loud you like to watch.
A media wall is internal work, so it does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, internal alterations may need listed building consent, so it is worth checking with your local council first.
Ring us on 0208 0895 905, send the details of your room to enquiries@dppsmarthomes.co.uk or use the quote form on our website. We will then book a visit to measure the wall and sketch out the design with you.
