The Challenge
Our customer had just completed a new outdoor swimming pool and wanted the space to feel like a proper entertainment destination — somewhere music could fill the air for summer parties without a tangle of portable speakers or a compromise on sound quality.
The brief was clear: great audio, completely hidden. Nothing that would clutter the look of the pool area or feel out of place against a clean, landscaped finish. The sound had to carry across an open-air environment — notoriously one of the hardest spaces to get right — while remaining crisp and balanced at any volume.
The Solution
DPP Smart Homes designed and installed a fully concealed audio system, specified around Monitor Audio’s landscape range — hardware built specifically for permanent outdoor use.
The system comprised:
- 4 × Monitor Audio CLG160 satellite speakers, positioned discreetly around the pool perimeter
- 1 × Monitor Audio CLGW12 subwoofer, buried into the ground for deep, powerful bass without a single visible cabinet

Every component was chosen to disappear into its surroundings while working hard acoustically. The in-ground subwoofer in particular is something that surprises people — the bass response has to be heard to be believed.
